About Nature Seekers

Nature Seekers is a non-profit community based organization. It was established in 1990 for the protection and conservation of the Endangered Leatherback Turtles in Matura on the east coast of Trinidad.

The organization comprises largely members of the Matura community with a few members from neighbouring communities. Membership is open to anyone in the Matura community, however the organisation reserves the right to determine the category of membership the applicant best fits.

Nature Seekers is managed by a Board of Directors who are elected at our Annual Genural Meeting for two years with half standing down annually. The board is ultimately responsible for the the overall management and performance of Nature Seekers. The Board consists of a Chairman, a Vice Chariman, a Secretary and a Treasurer. There are 8 persons on the board. All directors operate in a voluntary capacity. They meet at least once per month.
